Windows 7 RTM Has the Lowest Rate of Anti-Malware Protection

Microsoft used the 14th edition of its Security Intelligence Report to emphasize that Windows 8 is a very secure operating system, revealing that Windows 7 RTM has the lowest rate of anti-malware protection, thus becoming one of the most vulnerable platforms.

While it also revealed that 24 percent of PCs worldwide are not protected by anti-virus tools, Microsoft also mentioned that computers running Windows 8 have the highest rate of protection, as only 8.1 percent of the systems equipped with the 32-bit version of the OS were lacking up-to-date real-time protection.

Windows 7 RTM, on the other hand, is very likely to lack a full-featured security product, as anti-malware tools were missing from 32.3 percent of the computers Microsoft had a look at.

Windows XP, the soon-to-be 12-year-old platform, is also very likely to expose users? data, as 24.1 percent of the computers running this OS were left unprotected by anti-malware products.
