A Florida man is charged with killing a woman whose body was found in the Ocmulgee River in Georgia.
Telfair County Sheriff Chris Steverson announced Saturday that the victim has been identified as 64-year-old Jud Lyarue Morrow of Tampa, Fla. She had been shot in the head.
The sheriff said 25-year-old Joshua Lamar Helton of Plant City, Fla., was taken into custody Friday on a murder warrant. He said Helton had known Morrow and her family for some time and they had once been neighbors.
Fisherman found the woman's body near a boat landing Thursday morning.
WMGT-V ( http://bit.ly/12aCnHd ) reported Murrow is being held at the Hillsborough County Jail in Florida. No one was available Saturday at the Hillsborough sheriff's public information office to say whether Morrow has an attorney.
