A healthy body fuels a healthy mind, and parents of children enrolled in the local Early Childhood Learning Center/Head Start program (ECLC/HS) just finished up a six-week course designed to enhance culinary skills and establish sound fitness habits.
Registered dietitian Jean Bottillo-Faulisi conducted the ?Eat Well, Play Hard? (EWPH) course at Head Start?s Catskill location at 66 William St., the former St. Patrick?s Parish School, and parents were introduced a variety of alternatives to common snacks to improve both health and behavior among growing youngsters.

The EWPH program is offered by the NYS Health Department as a childhood obesity prevention initiative. The program was also taken into the classrooms, where the children were introduced to healthy eating and exercise options.
