Stowe, VT ? Ski Vermont was awarded the SMART Biz award for their Ski VT Check in to Win program at the 30th Annual Vermont Travel Industry Conference at Stoweflake Resort & Spa on April 3, 2013. The Ski Vermont: Check In to Win program rewards skiers and riders when they check in at any Vermont ski resort via Foursquare or Facebook Places. It is the first statewide tourism program of its kind, promoting frequency and variety of visits to Vermont ski resorts via prize incentives.
?Ski Vermont?s Check In to Win campaign is an ambitious statewide program that encourages exploration and promotes cross-brand businesses through a location-based campaign, then executes through multiple social media platforms. It smartly leverages social tools; Facebook and Twitter and weekly eblasts to Vermont?s loyal base of skiers and snowboarders; and showcases Vermont ski resorts and partner businesses all working together toward a common goal,? Rich Beattie, executive editor of Travel + Leisure Magazine and a judge for the SMART awards said.
Honorable mention was given to Mondo Mediaworks for the YouTube campaign, ?S**t Snowboarders Say,? which was produced for Ride Vermont, the snowboarding marketing entity for Ski Vermont. The video went viral after its release, garnering hundreds of thousands of views and spiking traffic to RideVermont.com. Jay Peak Resort also received honorable mention for the Moment{us} campaign.
